What’s So Good About Friday?

We won’t work a full day today, today is Good Friday.

For some 16 years I have closed my office early. This usually leads to some interesting questions? The world is hungry for answers.

But I have some questions for you.

Do you observe Good Friday?
What is so “good” about today?
What is good about our Lord?

It would bless me if you answered these questions here. I want to share your answers with my office staff on Monday.

Sunday is on the way!

  1. Good Friday. While it was a horrible day for Jesus, the results for us are amazing!

Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Peter 3:18: “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”

Without Good Friday, there would be no way to God.

John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Some say they believe in God, but without accepting what Jesus did on the cross on Good Friday, there is no eternal life.

Do I observe Good Friday? You bet!

    hey Mr Roy

well to answer your first question I do observe good friday.

For question two, its good because of the new covenant Jesus established by starting communion, because He would shed His blood for us to be redeemed.

And question number three, our Lord is good because what He did on the cross allows us to know Him. And once we are saved by His blood we are eternally secure.

    Hope this helps some one

Since I have cancer and am out of work, I am observing Good Friday. Good Friday honors the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is unusual that we would think of someone being killed as being a good day. But it began a process by which all are forgiven their sins and I am allowed to reside in heaven with God for an eternity. The Bible says that all who call on Jesus Christ will be saved from hell and damnation. That is what is good about my Lord. Someday he will wipe away all of my tears and give me eternal joy.

  10. I started to use a bunch of “church lingo”, but realized that to “unchurched” folks it would be like speaking a foreign language.

We remember those who willingly sacrificed their lives for our country on Memorial Day.

Jesus willingly gave His life for anyone willing to accept His gift so that we can be looked upon by the One Who created the universe as perfect(without sin)! What better reason than to remember and honor Christ on a special day which commemorates that gift!
