Summer Camp

It sounded like a great summer camp prank.

What could possibly go wrong with apprehending (in the cover of darkness) 2 huge peacocks from the nature preserve and “relocating” them to one of the girls cabins?

Guess these birds have a love/hate relationship with stashed away junk food and candy. The peacocks managed to eat every piece of candy they could peck out of the hiding places in the cabin. But sometime between the completion of the prank and midnight these feathered birds must have gotten sick from the sweets and pooped ALL over the girls cabin – in their suitcases, all over their pillows, and inside their beds…more funny now than at 1 am that morning – trust me.

So tomorrow we load up the buses with 500 youth and head to Camp Kalaqua – a kids dream church camp. My responsibility – Camp Security…oh the irony. My daily duty begins at midnight and ends sometime around 3 am. Me and a couple of my buddies will be armed with 30 trillion lumen lights (feel the testosterone) and high powered golf carts. We will be in search of campers who choose to ignore the “in cabin curfew”. Those apprehended will be…..ummm….never mind. We have a special surprise for those who choose to disobey and I want it to be a surprise! I’m certain that one cabin full of 10th grade boys may be the first to receive my surprise and they all stop by this site on a regular basis. I know who you are and what cabin you are in. And please, no fireworks in the oven this time.

I’ll post regular updates from Camp Kalaqua. Gotta run – need to make a few more phone calls to be sure the surprise is…umm…ready.

Wow! Sounds like Cops and Robbers to me! I know you have some fun and interesting things planned. Those poor kids…..they’d better watch out…or better yet try to out smart you! Have fun and know you are loved and prayed over. Mom

Well Mr Roy if i were you i wouldnt worry so much about what you are going to do to us at camp, i would worry about what we are going to you while you least expect it. Many of me and my partners have been going to camp for quite some time and we know the ways of the Kulaqua forest like the back of our hand. Well good luck to you and may the battle begin….old man.
